GENERAL INFORMATION
About the Festival
The Rivertown Revival is a unique, arts–based, thematic festival that sustainably highlights and celebrates the Petaluma River while raising much needed funds for the The David Yearsley River Heritage Center, a project of Friends of the Petaluma River. This community festival includes over 100 musicians, an art boat flotilla, art boat drag races, aerial acts on the River, artesian merchants, engaging non-profit organizations, $5 weddings, local food vendors, theatrical performances, amazing children and teen activities, and a beautiful location for folks to be themselves.
When and Where
The Rivertown Revival will be held on July 21, 2012 at The David Yearsley River Heritage Center (aka, per google maps: McNear Landing or Steamer’s Landing Park) from 11 am to 7 pm. It costs $5.00 to attend. Advance tickets available at several local businesses featured on our website.
The Greatest Slough on Earth
2011 brought over 8,000 friends together to enjoy our tidal slough and beautiful historic barn and peninsula. All had a wonderful time demonstrated by the broad smiles, dancing, eating, and drinking. Folks came for the boat races and stayed for the overall merriment of the 100+ musicians, costumes, and trapeze on and in the Petaluma River. This is your opportunity to join the party!
Promotion:
The Rivertown Revival will be promoted through our partnerships with TV, radio and newspaper media. In addition, Rivertown will be promoted through an extensive marketing campaign including posters, flyers, mailers, press releases, web presence and social networking. Also, Rivertown sponsors, vendors, talent and couples will promote the event through their organizational channels.
Green
One of Rivertown Revival’s primary goals is to have a zero environmental impact; all participants will need to adhere to green standards set forth in our Green Guidelines. In 2011 we came pretty darn close and achieved a 98% waste diversion rate, while producing 1,800 pounds of compost with our food scraps and green packaging materials.
